20 November 2009 - LSB statement on Bar Standards Board decisions on LDPs

Following the November meeting of the Bar Standards Board, Chairman of the Legal Services Board David Edmonds said:

‘The LSB welcomes the decisions taken by the Bar Standards Board. These changes will allow barristers to make an important contribution to the development of the legal services market, widening access to justice and promoting consumer choice.

The BSB’s decisions complement our own consultation, launched earlier this week, and which set out our thinking on how alternative business structures might best be regulated. The BSB’s commitment to develop its thinking on entity regulation is also welcomed.

We look forward to working with them to deliver the shared reform agenda.'
