Proposed rules on ABS maximum financial penalty released

The Legal Services Act 2007 requires the Board to make rules prescribing the maximum amount of penalty that can be imposed by a licensing authority on an ABS. In accordance with the requirement for consultation, the proposed rules have been published and feedback considered in the formation of these draft rules. Before the proposed rules can be made, the Lord Chancellor’s consent is required – which has been sought.
