April-May 2012 Joint LSB, Law Society, and Ministry of Justice survey of solicitor firms The Law Society the Legal Services Board and the Ministry of Justice have launched a survey to assess the impact on high street law firms of the significant regulatory, economic and legal aid changes taking place in the sector. January 2011 Research Seminars The LSB is due to hold a series of seminars in London and Leicester to discuss existing research, identify gaps in research and to develop the LSB’s research and evaluation plans. Invitations can be found here.
13 October 2010 Diversity Conference, University of Westminster The University of Westminster held a conference to present the findings of their, LSB-funded, research of barriers and individual choices.
30 June to 2 July 2010 Research into practice: legal service delivery in a new decade The LSRC three day international research conference, sponsored by the LSB - consisting of a wide variety of researchers, policy-makers and government representatives discussing emerging research and policy formulation, focusing on access to justice and legal services research particularly in relation to legal aid funded services. Alex Roy, Research Manager, and Crispin Passmore, Strategy Director, presented their paper on referral fees.
18 June 2010 Training and professional education- a European comparison James Faulconbridge, Daniel Muzio and Andrew Cook presented their research to the LSB and external parties.
14 June 2010 The future of legal services This conference launched our publication of a compendium of short articles on the trends that will shape the future of legal services, with a number of academics presenting their essays.
10 June 2010 Work experience for future lawyers Andrew Francis, Keele University and Hillary Sommerlad, Leeds Metropolitan University presented their research to the LSB and external parties.
04 June 2010 Regulating and de-regulating lawyers conference -the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies. Alex Roy, Research Manager, Legal Services Board, presented his paper on the role of the oversight regulator, focusing on the proposed deregulation of ownership rules with the introduction of Alternative Business Structures.
24 May 2010 Referral fees seminar Seminar to present the publication of the CRA report on referral fees.
11 May 2010 Small business research roundtable Roundtable to present the outcome of the AIA research.
21 April 2010 Researching the foundation for a 21st Century European civil justice system Dr Christopher Hodges, Centre for Socio-Legal Studies, Oxford University, discussed his research on the different models of access to justice.
06 January 2010 Research seminar series Academics were invited to discuss existing research, gaps in research and prioritisation- resulting in a summary of findings
